ABOUT

Hi there, I’m James Pearl, and here’s a bit about me. I’ve been a Pest Control Technician for over 10 years, and I am a fully insured and RSPH Level 2 qualified through the British Pest Control Association (BPCA), which enables the safe use of rodenticides.

Pest control was never something I imagined myself doing, but in 2014, an opportunity arose with one of the leading pest control firms, which was too interesting to turn down. After years of training, I gained the qualifications required to carry out safe and effective pest control treatments. I’ve worked at various pest control firms, through which I gained extensive experience and knowledge.

I’ve dealt with a wide range of sectors, including domestic, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, hospitality, and public buildings and areas. As you can imagine, I have tackled pests that are not only distressing to people but also pose a health risk. It’s certainly an interesting job due to the variety, and no two days are the same. It can be extremely challenging but is hugely rewarding.

From rats to mice, bed bugs to fleas, you name it, I’ve dealt with it.

  • What should I do to prepare for a pest control visit?
Preparation can vary depending on the type of pest and treatment plan. Generally, I may ask you to clear certain areas of your home, secure pets, and cover or store away food, utensils, and any sensitive items.
  • How quickly can you respond to a pest problem?
I understand the urgency of pest issues and in most areas, I can provide same-day or next-day service. My goal is to assess and begin treating your pest problem as quickly as possible, minimising damage and discomfort. For emergencies, please contact me directly, and I will try to prioritise your request.
  • Is the pest control treatment safe for my family and pets?
Yes, the safety of your family and pets is my top priority. All the products and methods I use are compliant with UK regulations and standards for pest control. I strive to use the least toxic and most effective treatment solutions available. I also provide detailed instructions on any precautions you should take before, during, and after the treatment process.
  • Why are your treatments done over 3 weeks?
Due to the lifecycles of insects and behaviour of rodents a 3-part visit is required for the treatment to be effective and successful.
  • How long do I need to be out of the property after a spray treatment?
The minimum amount of time that I require you to be out of the property is 4 hours. The reason for this is so that the chemical has a sufficient amount of time to settle. I would then recommend that the floors are left untouched i.e. not hoovered or mopped for at least 3-4 days.
